 The Bible in a 21-century world August 28, 2010

The first set was purchased for my big sisters birthday, but it arrived at my home (divine intervention). It was taken out of the box and that's when it was realized it wasn't the (9-MP3 version). Therefore a second set was ordered and sent directly to my sister for her "belated birthday."
Having been one who wanted to read the bible the old fashion way, it was just not meant to be. While listening for the first time, the CD was paused to go and get the new remnant study bible w/ E.G. Notes, I had just received. It was interesting to know that the CD script stuck to the NKJV bible word for word.
My Friday nights and Saturday afternoon are quite different. I look forward to spending many quality hours to get to know the word for myself. Thank you to the Thomas Nelson publishing company, for your 21- century bible on CD. This format really works for 21-century mines!!!
 MP3 version does NOT play in Car August 25, 2010

Though I read a few reviews that noted the inability of the mp3 version of this product to play in their vehicles, I noticed these were from 2009 and hoped the product had been updated. Unfortunately, these mp3 discs do not play in any of our 4 vehicles. All vehicles are new models and play other mp3 discs without issue.

I have always wanted to read the Bible from cover to cover, but have never made the time. "The Word of Promise" has allowed me to hear to bible, word for word as it is in the bible, 30 miles at a time during my commute to and from work. This past week I have heard more of the bible than I have heard in the past few years of reading it myself. I enjoy the accuracy and understand-ability of the NKJV translation. I also enjoy the vast collection of voices and theatrical sound effects that are incorporated into this audio bible. If I close my eyes while listening, not while driving of course, I feel as if I am there, listening to the biblical dialogue in person.
To me, as a Christian, this audio bible set is worth many times more than I paid for it.
